Extensive maintenance has been carried out to the fendering system and individual fenders which have been damaged by ship impact replaced.
Periodic maintenance dredging of the 17km long entrance channel and replacement of the buoys and lights has also been carried out. Training of the technical staff and ships' pilots has been arranged in Europe.


The port facilities comprise a Loading Quay for ships up to 70,000 dwt with an Access Jetty 1.6km long to transport ore by conveyor from the storage areas to the deep water Loading Quay.
We initially provided assistance in connection with deterioration of elements of the reinforced concrete superstructure of the Approach Jetty. Following successful rehabilitation of the T-beams supporting the Approach Jetty, underwater repairs have been carried out to all the Approach Jetty piles.
In 2003, underwater repairs have also been carried out to selected Loading Quay piles to prolong the life of the structure.
Royal Haskoning has provided ongoing planning and engineering services since 1975 for the Port of Kamsar bauxite exporting facility.
